Calling All Yoga Big Brains!
In this weekend, we'll crack open the codes to Sanskrit. While a seemingly intimidating and all-but-dead language, Sanskrit resonates from deep within the subtle body and is actually quite an accessible language. We can find its roots and cognates peppered throughout our own English language (among many others), and words like nirvana and karma are colloquialisms. Wouldn't it be great if we knew their actual meanings—if we could translate the Sanskrit scriptures (even just in the most basic ways) for ourselves? We can and we will!
In this weekend, we'll learn about the evolution of the language, the full Sanskrit alphabet, the names of the most common poses, and we'll even start translating some of the most vital Sanskrit ideas for ourselves.
This course fulfills an elective requirement for the Carolina Yoga 500-Hour Teacher Training. It is also open to everyone!
