kirtan potluck community hang

By Donation

Kirtan, or sankirtana, which translates as "collective performance" is a call-and-response musical conversation, a performance art dedicated to the tradition of bhakti yoga. The leader (wallah) sings a line of mantra or sacred song (often in Sanskrit) and the group sings it back. There’s no audience since all of our voices blend together to form a living instrument. Dissolve the mental chatter into the rhythmic repetition, quieting the mind, releasing the inner critic and fostering connection.

Join us for a big-hearted evening of music, community and food. We’ll sing and chant for about an hour and a half and then enjoy the potluck and conversation. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share.
